A master's thesis at the College of Law and Political Science, University of Kirkuk, discussed the legal framework for licensing and operating commercial agencies.

The thesis, submitted by researcher Alaa Medhat Obeid, aimed to address the conceptual framework of commercial agencies, their nature, and how to distinguish them from similar activities. It also examined aspects of the oversight role of the licensing authority for commercial agency activities.

The thesis concluded that activities undertaken by a commercial agent within ninety days of the contract's expiration are considered legitimate according to Article (8/Fourth) of the Iraqi Commercial Agency Regulation Law No. 79 of 2017.
