Media & Government Communication Department

The university’s official front and a communication bridge with government and society

The Media & Government Communication Department serves as the official front of the University of Kirkuk and the primary gateway for communication, interaction, and coordination between the university and government institutions, the broader community, and the academic community in particular—through an integrated media system that reflects the university’s identity and mission.

The department’s name was changed from Media & Public Relations Department to Media & Government Communication Department based on Ministerial Order No. 11/4/H/554 dated 06/04/2023 and University Order No. 7/6/5197 dated 02/05/2023, in line with the Ministry of Higher Education’s direction to activate the government communication system.

The department established the University of Kirkuk Radio via Facebook to broadcast university activities throughout the week (one hour daily), with a dedicated team to answer student inquiries on academic matters and host department heads to clarify administrative aspects for undergraduate and postgraduate students.
