The Environmental Research Unit was established in 2005 to address environmental challenges in Kirkuk Province and support environmental research projects through cooperation with relevant government departments and institutions. The unit is equipped with advanced laboratory instruments that serve postgraduate research and researchers inside and outside the university.

About the Unit

With a wide range of modern, globally sourced research instruments, the Unit has become a key hub for environmental studies, providing accurate laboratory analyses, hosting environmental awareness activities and seminars, and maintaining continuous cooperation with departments such as Environment, Health, Water Resources, Agriculture, Veterinary Services, North Oil Company, and North Gas Company.

Provide an advanced research environment, promote teamwork and sustainability practices, and contribute to environmental policy development through monitoring, evaluation, and high-quality research projects.
