The Postgraduate Studies Department was established in 2016 after previously operating as a division within the Scientific Affairs Department. Today, it includes three main divisions: Admission and Registration Division, Scientific Affairs Follow-up Division, and Documents, Certificates, and University Orders Division.

The department is one of the university’s core departments. It is responsible for supervising the preparation and graduation of academic staff and developing their capabilities and competencies to qualify them for higher degrees (Higher Diploma – Master’s – PhD) in various academic specializations, beginning with admission planning, circulation of application regulations, and follow-up of instructions, and ending with the issuance of university orders related to study leave, its completion, and the granting of academic degrees.

The Postgraduate Studies Department at the Presidency of the University of Kirkuk announces the opening of applications for postgraduate studies for the academic year 2025–2026 starting from 15/5/2025, and applications will close on 10/6/2025, in accordance with the applicable ministerial application and admission regulations.

  • After completing the electronic application, the applicant must visit the college to submit the full paper file.
  • Verification and matching procedures are carried out by the postgraduate committees in the colleges.
