The Department of Postgraduate Studies was established in 2016 after previously operating as a division within the Department of Scientific Affairs. Today, it includes three main divisions: Admission and Registration Division, Scientific Affairs Follow-up Division, and Documents, Certificates and University Orders Division.

The department is one of the essential administrative and academic departments at the university. It aims to supervise the preparation and graduation of scientific cadres, develop their capabilities and qualifications, and enable them to obtain higher degrees (Higher Diploma – Master’s – PhD) in various scientific fields. Its work begins with admission planning, circulating application regulations and following up instructions, and continues through issuing university orders related to study leaves, their completion, and granting academic degrees.

Launch of Applications for Postgraduate Programs at the University of Kirkuk
According to the instructions and regulations of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research for the academic year 2026–2027
The Department of Postgraduate Studies Affairs at the Presidency of the University of Kirkuk announces the opening of applications for postgraduate studies for the academic year 2026–2027, starting from 10/5/2026. Applications will end on 11/6/2026, in accordance with the valid ministerial application and admission instructions.

  • After completing the electronic application, the applicant must visit the college to submit the complete paper file.
  • Verification and matching procedures will be completed by postgraduate studies committees in the colleges.
