A master's thesis at the College of Law and Political Science discussed the inadmissibility of ignorance of the law as a defense in the Civil Procedure Code: A Comparative Analytical Study.
The thesis, submitted by researcher Ahoud Hadi Wadi, aimed to clarify the conceptual framework of the rule that ignorance of the law is inadmissible as a defense in the Civil Procedure Code, its characteristics, its application and implementation within the Code, its effects on the Civil Procedure Code, and its judicial applications in Iraqi and comparative jurisprudence.
The thesis concluded that the rule that ignorance of the law is inadmissible as a defense in the Civil Procedure Code contributes to determining how civil courts adjudicate cases and achieving a balance between the interests and needs of the litigants, which is granted to the judge's discretion in each case brought before him.
