The E-Plagiarism Committee at the Presidency of the University of Kirkuk examines researchers’ papers and postgraduate theses/dissertations using the global Turnitin system, as well as checking AI-generated content percentage. Submissions are received through the official email address.

The Scientific Integrity Committee is responsible for reviewing and issuing Scientific Integrity Forms for researchers at the University of Kirkuk and other universities, for both local and international publications. This form is one of the key requirements for processing academic promotion files.

The committee is chaired by the President of the University of Kirkuk, with the Vice President for Scientific Affairs as a member, in addition to four members selected based on scientific competence and experience in auditing local and international journals.

Responsibilities & Workflow

1Turnitin & AI Content Screening
The committee checks researchers’ papers and postgraduate theses/dissertations using Turnitin, including similarity and AI-generated content percentage, in accordance with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research instructions.
2Electronic Submission
Submissions are received via the official email address for e-plagiarism:
uok.turnitin@uokirkuk.edu.iq
Please follow the file formats and instructions for each request type (papers, theses, dissertations).
3Issuing Scientific Integrity Forms
The Scientific Integrity Committee reviews and issues Scientific Integrity Forms for researchers at the University of Kirkuk and other universities for local or international publications. This form is required for processing academic promotion transactions.
4Office Days
In-person office and review days are scheduled from Monday to Thursday each week, to support researchers and postgraduate students and to receive any required paper documents.
5Required Documents (Scholarship Students Abroad)
For scholarship students studying outside Iraq (degree equivalency), the following documents are required:
  1. Original thesis/dissertation copy stamped by the host university and the embassy.
  2. CD/USB containing the thesis/dissertation in Word format.
  3. Submission request letter from the Scholarships Department at the Presidency.
  4. Legal undertaking from the Legal Affairs Department.
  5. Degree equivalency application sheet (downloaded from the student’s email).
  6. Copy of the National ID.
  7. Payment receipt for plagiarism check fees from the Finance Department.
6Online Applications (Official Forms)
Applications are submitted through official online systems and forms, including:
  • Scientific Integrity Form (Researchers).
  • Scientific Integrity Form (Postgraduate Students).
  • E-Promotions System.
Note about Form (2): Please fill out the form online, then print it and submit a paper copy to both the E-Plagiarism and Scientific Integrity units.
7Scopus Journals — Latest Update
The unit provides an updated Excel file of journals indexed in Scopus. Latest update date: 2024/04/26. You can download it via the official link on the university website.
