A master's thesis at the College of Education for Pure Sciences at Kirkuk University discussed the effect of doping and point defects on the structural and electronic properties of boron nitride nanosheets. The thesis, presented by student Zainab Shaker Mahmoud, examined two-dimensional hexagonal boron nitride (h-BN) sheets, which are characterized by a graphene-like structure and high thermal and chemical stability, making them suitable for electronic, nanotechnology, and energy storage applications. The study aimed to determine the effect of doping these sheets with nickel atoms and point defects on their structural and electronic properties, using density functional theory (DFT) and the CASTEP software.
