The faculty members from the College of Engineering at Kirkuk University, Dr. Abbas Falah Gharib, Mr. Muhammad Yashar Najm Al-Din, and Dr. Ali Saad Al-Din Abbas, published a scientific paper in the Solid Earth Sciences journal published by Elsevier and indexed in Scopus and Clarivate. The research highlights the evaluation of the hydrocarbon generation potential of the source rocks dating back to the Middle Jurassic-Lower Cretaceous period in the Ajil field within the Mesopotamian Foredeep Basin in northern Iraq, through the integration of organic geochemical analyses (TOC and Rock-Eval pyrolysis), the study of facies (Palynofacies), as well as the work of a one-dimensional model (1D Basin Modeling).
