Under the direct supervision of the President of Kirkuk University, Professor Dr. Imran Jamal Hassan, and the oversight of a central committee, competitive entrance exams for postgraduate studies (PhD and Master's) began in the university's colleges. The Director of Postgraduate Studies, Professor Dr. Najat Omar Qadir, stated, "The competitive entrance exams for postgraduate studies at Kirkuk University for the 2026-2027 academic year included the following colleges: Law and Political Science, Education for Humanities, Science, Nursing, Engineering, Agriculture, Administration and Economics, Education for Pure Sciences, Physical Education and Sports Sciences, Arts, Computer Science and Information Technology, Education for Women, and the College of Medicinal and Industrial Plants, with the participation of over a thousand applicants."
