The Faculty of law and political sciences at the University of Kirkuk organized a scientific seminar on the right to freedom of opinion and expression and the protection of journalists in the field of human rights the journalists ' Rights Law No. 21 of 2011 as a model.the scientific seminar presented by Dr. Hatem Jassam Mohammed dealt with multiple axes, including the affirmation by the Constitution of the Republic of Iraq of 2005 of the right to freedom of opinion and expression and the press as basic human rights. The law on the rights of journalists No. 21 of 2011 is a special legal framework that aims to provide additional protection and guarantees to journalists in the performance of their duty, while emphasizing their right to obtain information.
