Professor Dr. Maad Assi Ali, Dean of the College of Media at Kirkuk University, participated in a session titled “The Stumbling lock to Meaning in the Iraqi Communication Environment” as part of the “Anaah” Ramadan Forum. He addressed the rapid transformations occurring in the Iraqi digital space and their impact on shaping public opinion and crafting political discourse.
Ali explained that “the growing role of content creators and what are known as ‘electronic armies’ has contributed to the creation of a complex communication environment characterized by a proliferation of messages and overlapping agendas. This has led to the distortion of meaning and its redirection to serve the interests of specific actors.”
