Scientific Promotions Unit
Follow-up and Promotion of Teaching and Academic StaffThe Scientific Promotions Unit is considered one of the pivotal academic units in the college. It specializes in processing and studying scientific promotion transactions for faculty members (Assistant Lecturer, Lecturer, Assistant Professor, Professor), ensuring that they meet all valid ministerial conditions, regulations, and instructions, as well as the guidelines for peer-reviewed scientific publishing in approved international and local repositories.
📋 Duties and Responsibilities of the Unit:
- Receiving and auditing scientific promotion files and transactions submitted by faculty members, and verifying the completeness of their documents.
- Ensuring the scientific originality of the research and the publishing conditions in peer-reviewed scientific journals and international repositories (such as Scopus and Clarivate).
- Sending scientific productions and research to accredited scientific experts and evaluators inside and outside Iraq for evaluation.
- Following up and auditing scientific promotion points tables (Table No. 1 and Table No. 2) according to the valid scientific promotions regulations.
- Submitting promotion minutes and recommendations to the Central Promotions Committee at the University Presidency to obtain approval and issue university orders.
