The College of Agriculture discussed a master’s thesis on the response of hybrids of yellow corn (Zea mays L) to agricultural systems under different plant densities, by the student Malak Ali Hussein, under the supervision of Dr. Zakaria Mahmoud Muhammad, and the assistant professor, Dr. Sagar Asaad Kakarash
The study aimed to determine the best hybrid of yellow corn that is characterized by a high yield and is superior in its quantitative, qualitative, and growth characteristics, and to determine the best plant density for growing different hybrids of the yellow corn crop, and to determine the best pattern of cultivation at different planting distances for the yellow corn crop, and to determine the best interaction between hybrids, plant densities, and cultivation patterns.
The study concluded that the hybrids, plant densities, and agricultural patterns differed significantly in the studied traits, and the DKC6777 hybrid was superior in most of the studied traits.
