About the Department

The Department of Agricultural Machinery and Equipment was established at the College of Agriculture / University of Kirkuk in the academic year (2024 – 2025) after being transferred from the College of Medicinal and Industrial Plants. The department awards a Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Machinery and Equipment Sciences after a study period of four years.

The department aims to prepare agricultural engineering cadres specialized in the operation, maintenance, and development of agricultural equipment, contributing to the mechanization of the agricultural sector and raising production efficiency.

The department is headed by Asst. Prof. Dr. Ali Mohammed Nouri.

Vision

To be a pioneering department in teaching and developing agricultural equipment technology to achieve sustainable agriculture locally and regionally.

Mission

We seek to qualify graduates with scientific and technical competence capable of keeping pace with developments in agricultural technology, providing distinguished education in the field of agricultural machinery and equipment using blended learning methods, and committing to promoting innovation and scientific research to achieve sustainable development in the agricultural sector.

Objectives

  1. Qualifying specialized professional competencies: Preparing graduates holding a bachelor's degree empowered in agricultural machinery technology, capable of meeting the requirements of the agricultural labor market.
  2. Enhancing blended learning: Activating theoretical and applied education through modern electronic platforms like "Google Classroom" to ensure student interaction and development.
  3. Encouraging scientific research, innovation, and postgraduate studies: Supporting applied research and developing technical solutions for agricultural challenges to enhance sustainable agricultural production.
  4. Building community partnerships: Cooperating with farmers and agricultural companies specialized in local and government agricultural equipment and the private sector to provide practical solutions and specialized consultations.
  5. Supporting environmental sustainability: Applying modern technologies that reduce resource consumption and support sustainable agriculture and environmental preservation.
