A research team in the College of Science has published a joint scientific paper titled “Computational Exploration and Characterization of AZ/Cd1-xS/CCTS/MO Heterogeneous Characteristics in a Solar Cell with and Without a p+-GeSe (BSF) Layer” in an international refereed journal (Solar Energy) The study aimed at the importance of actively seeking to find new solar cells at the present time and contribute to finding alternative energies for using oil and its derivatives to generate clean energy generated from the sun, and to create appropriate conditions for the work of solar cells and thus obtain a practical and simple solar cell that works with stability and high efficiency using programs Simulation and then its practical and field application. The study included simulating the construction and manufacture of a new solar cell, CCTS, and then diversifying into adding layers of the (Buffer layer) of the ZnxCd1-xS compound to the solar cell to obtain a new conversion efficiency by studying the change of the molar fraction components of compound x to find out The best x can be applied to the ZnxCd1-xS layer to produce Zn0.2Cd0.8S, and then improve its properties by studying the change of thickness and adding the carrier concentrations to the (Zn0.2Cd0.8S) layer. The team reached good results after studying this new solar cell. Where the conversion efficiency of the new solar cell was reached, estimated at 37.12%. The team included Prof. Muhannad Qader Karim, Prof. Maad Mohamed Amin, and Prof. Dr. Shaheen Salah El-Din Ali Mardan, both teachers in the Physics Department.grop1
