The Rehabilitation and Employment Division of the University of Kirkuk, in cooperation with the Kirkuk Environment Directorate, held a scientific symposium on sustainable energy with the participation of a number of university employees and students. The symposium aimed to spread societal and cultural awareness of the importance of using renewable energy, reducing carbon emissions, increasing green spaces, solar cell panels, wind, and water energy, and converting buildings into sustainable, environmentally friendly buildings. The symposium included a statement of the importance of renewable energy in achieving sustainable development goals in terms of environmental, economic, social, and health aspects, as well as an explanation of pollution, its types, and treatment methods.
