The College of Science discussed a master’s thesis on the preparation and diagnosis of some pyramidine derivatives and the study of linking some of them to Ct DNA” by student Biman Sarout Ali and supervised by Prof. Dr. Hala Muhammad Ghareeb and Prof. Dr. Nourhan Ali Aref. The study included the preparation of cytosine derivatives by going through four pathways (reaction Manch, Schiff reaction, acetylene derivatives and amino acetylenes), and studying the association of some of these prepared compounds with CT-DNA by using different concentrations of the prepared compounds and a fixed concentration of DNA, and then studying the effect of changes with the composition of CT-DNA, nitrogenous bases, phosphate group using Infrared spectrum and UV-visible spectrum, and comparing the results of the current study with the results of previous studies for the selected compounds. Further manch bases derived from cytosine or any other compound similar to the structure, as well as preparation of the manch reaction using secondary amines and other amino acids.paeman1
