A master’s thesis at the College of Education for Pure Sciences at the University of Kirkuk discussed the investigation of the levels of Irisin, Myonectin and a number of physiological parameters among people with type 2 diabetes in the city of Kirkuk, by the student Nour Hussein Abbas, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Sahib Jumaa Abdul Rahman. The study aimed to evaluate the concentrations of Irisin and myonectin and some Physiological variables, which included lipid profile, creatinine, albumin, urea and liver enzymes, which included alanine aminotransferase enzyme, aspartate aminotransferase enzyme and alkaline phosphatase enzyme in people with type 2 diabetes and compared with the healthy ones. Except for HDL-C, albumin concentration, an increase in the concentration of liver enzymes and a decrease in some of them, and the concentrations of urea and creatinine were not affected in patients with type 2 diabetes, as well as the concentrations of aricin and myonectin were not affected in people with type 2 diabetes in people who exercised in sports.
