A Master’s thesis at the College of Agriculture, University of Kirkuk, examined “The Effects of Fruit Bagging and Foliar Application of Chelated Calcium and Potassium on Yield Characteristics and Fruit Cracking in ‘Wonderful’ Pomegranate Trees.”

The thesis, submitted by Mohammed Haitham Kadhim, aimed to evaluate the effects of using different types of fruit-bagging materials, along with foliar application of chelated calcium and potassium, on the quantitative and qualitative characteristics of the yield, nutrient content, and fruit cracking percentage of the ‘Wonderful’ pomegranate cultivar. The study also sought to determine the most effective individual and combined treatments among the tested factors.

The study concluded that the combined treatment of bagging fruits with white polypropylene bags and foliar application of potassium sulfate at a concentration of 3 g/L produced the best overall results among the treatments evaluated, resulting in superior performance across the measured yield and fruit quality traits.
