Agriculture College Hosts Workshop on Drugs' Societal Impact with UK Lecturer Participation

Under the patronage of the respected President of the University of Kirkuk, Professor Dr. Imran Jamal Hassan, and supervised by the Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Osama Ibrahim Ahmed, and the Head of the Animal Production Department, Professor Dr. Qaneh Hussein Amin, the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Committee of the Animal Production Department organized a workshop titled Drugs and Their Negative Effects on Society. The event featured an external lecturer from the University of Sheffield’s College of Medicine (UK) via video conference.

Workshop Details:

  • First Lecture: Delivered by Professor Dr. Hussein Al-Tayyar from the University of Sheffield’s College of Medicine, focusing on the health and psychological risks of drug abuse and its global societal implications.

  • Second Lecture: Presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Nahla Kamal Asaad from the College of Agriculture, addressing the social and economic consequences of drug addiction, including family breakdown, unemployment, and crime.
