The two faculty members in the Colleges of Agriculture and Science at the University of Kirkuk, Assistant Professor Dr. Mohsen Omar Muhammad and Ms. Nadia Qader Haj, published a joint scientific research in one of the international journals classified within the Scopus containers Q2.

The research included the study and preparation of new derivatives of Comprestatin and the study of the biological efficacy as anti-cancer agents. Ten new compounds were prepared as derivatives of Schiff's bases, and the structural formulas were confirmed using the latest modern spectroscopic methods.

The study concluded that the prepared compounds are highly effective against cancerous tumors, in addition to studying the effectiveness of the prepared compounds as anti-tumor drugs.
