Under the patronage of the respected President of the University of Kirkuk, Professor Dr. Imran Jamal Hassan, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Agriculture, Assistant Professor Dr. Osama Ibrahim Ahmed, the College of Agriculture, the Women’s Empowerment Unit, and in cooperation with the Division of Continuing Education, organized an awareness-raising symposium on suicide, its motives, and its ruling in terms of Islamic law, in the presence of the teaching staff and students. the college.
The symposium aimed to raise awareness among young people, who are more vulnerable to this condition, by virtue of Islamic law, and what are the motives that lead to suicide, such as depression, levels of illness, loss of hope in life, and a person’s despair of achieving his goal.
The symposium included three lectures, the first lecture was by the human development trainer, Mrs. Marwa Siddiq Muhammad, the second lecture by the human development trainer, Mrs. Hataw Muhammad Ismail, and the third lecture by Asst. Lect. Maha Kamal Ahmed.
The symposium recommended that the family, school, and university should have a role in building the individual’s personality from the early stages, making them confident in themselves, and that they are able to overcome difficulties and problems, through their absolute faith in God Almighty, and that resorting to God is the ideal solution instead of resorting to suicide.
