The College of Computer Science and Information Technology, in cooperation with the Community Police Department, organized a scientific symposium on electronic extortion and degrading content and its impact on Iraqi reality, with the participation of faculty members and students.The symposium dealt with several lectures that shed light on electronic extortion after it has witnessed wide spread recently due to the misuse of social networking sites and the spread of degrading content that violates public morals in society, as well as explaining the reasons for the spread of electronic crimes.The symposium came out with recommendations, the most important of which are the need to spread legal culture among youth, increase public awareness of the dangers of this type of crime, educate the family, contribute to launching awareness campaigns and instructions from time to time, and cooperate with competent security and social agencies.
