In the presence and under the direct supervision of the Undersecretary of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research for Administrative Affairs, Dr. Ali Hamid Al-Shukri, the deans of the College of Medicine and Nursing at the University of Kirkuk participated in the Iraqi doctor’s program within the global health programs in the United Arab Emirates, with the participation of the committees of deans of the faculties of medicine and nursing in Iraqi universities.Dr. Hiwa Sattar Saleh, Dean of the College of Nursing, stated that the program discussed biological and chemical threats and hazards, limiting their control, and how to incorporate them into the curricula of the Colleges of Medicine and Nursing from a theoretical, practical, and clinical standpoint. The Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Fakhruddin Najm Nasser, stated, "The program shed light on the concept of one health, as the health of an individual in any society may affect the rest of the individuals in the rest of the societies, as happened with the spread of COVID-19 from China to the rest of the world, as well as discussing the concept of international health regulations.He added that the program recommended the necessity of conducting an intensive course for students of the sixth stage by specialists in the branches of microbiology, community medicine, and internal medicine; strengthening the vocabulary of the curriculum related to environmental threats and biological hazards; strengthening the scientific research plan; and developing laboratories and providing them with modern equipment to facilitate the diagnosis process.
