Two faculty members at the College of Law and Political Science, Prof. Dr. Salwa Ahmed Maidan, and Dr. Qahtan Yassin al-Zaidi participated in the annual academic forum on international humanitarian law for university professors, which was held in Najaf Governorate and organized by the International Committee of the Red Cross in cooperation with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Permanent National Committee for International Humanitarian Law in Iraq.The forum, which was held with the participation of a group of Iraqi university professors specialized in international humanitarian law, included discussing the issue of international humanitarian law, especially the issue of the missing with specialists from Iraqi academics, as Iraq is one of the countries that include large numbers of missing persons that reach hundreds of thousands, leaving behind families living in conflict. Between hope and despair, waiting to hear news about their fate. The forum aimed to intensify the efforts of the International Committee of the Red Cross in Iraq on the issue of the missing, as it is one of the important and priority issues in research and organization, as it helps those families in searching for their relatives through cooperation with the responsible authorities.
