The University of Kirkuk achieved a new achievement by advancing in (UI GreenMetric), by achieving rank (588), after it was in the 630th position, among one thousand and fifty university educational institutions from 85 countries around the world. Iraqi universities have been able to increase their presence and global competition to seventy-three institutions Compared to the results of last year for the year 2021, which included sixty-six universities only. The President of the University of Kirkuk, Prof. Dr. Omran Jamal Hassan, said, "This achievement comes within the plan of our university to achieve the goals of the government program of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, considering the entry of Iraqi universities into international rankings as a goal and an indicator." for the quality of higher education in Iraq.
