On the occasion of World Diabetes Day … University of Kirkuk holds a scientific symposium on the disease and its complications

In the presence of the President of the University of Kirkuk, Prof. Dr. Omran Jamal Hassan, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Medicine, Prof. Dr. Fakhruddin Najm Nasser, the college held a scientific symposium on the history of diabetes and its complications, with the participation of a number of college deans, faculty members, and students. The dean of the college stated that the symposium aims to identify the risks of diabetes, the rate of prevalence, and the history of the disease, as well as diagnostic methods, treatment and complications, and how to care for patients with diabetes.

Diabetes00The symposium included many topics that shed light on the signs and symptoms of diabetes, healthy food for them, and healthy methods of using treatment, as well as explaining the damages of the disease and its risks to the individual, the family in particular, and society in general. The symposium recommended that patients with diabetes should be monitored periodically to reduce its complications, adopt preventive methods to avoid contracting the disease, and educate people about diabetes and early diagnosis of the disease. On the sidelines of the symposium, an art exhibition was held for handicrafts that were produced and participated in by the students of the college, as well as organizing free medical examinations for the attendees and alerting them to the dangers that arise from this disease.
