The University of Kirkuk achieved a new achievement by entering the British Times classification of Arab universities, by achieving a rank (141+) among one hundred and sixty-nine universities from fifteen Arab countries. The President of the University of Kirkuk, Prof. Dr. Omran Jamal Hassan, said, "This achievement comes within the plan of our university to achieve the goals of the program The government of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, considering the entry of Iraqi universities into international rankings as a goal and indicator of the quality of higher education in Iraq.” Arab and international universities. The director of the Quality Assurance Department at the university, Dr. Abdul Hakim Shakur Muhammad, stated that "the competing universities were evaluated according to five main axes, which are teaching (33%), scientific research (33%), citations (20%), and society (6%).
