The faculty member at the Faculty of Science, Prof. Dr. Omar Sabah Ibrahim, participated in the first international conference on water resources in Iraq entitled “Perspectives and Visions”, which was held at Kumar University of Science and Technology in Sulaymaniyah - Kurdistan Region of Iraq. The joint water basins, as one of the most prominent problems experienced by the riparian countries, including Iraq, in terms of water shares between the upstream countries of the Tigris and Euphrates rivers (Iran and Turkey) and the downstream state of Iraq. He added that the conference featured keynote speeches by specialists from the United States of America and Malaysia. Sweden and the Sultanate of Oman, followed by interventions that discussed in detail all the problems and challenges facing the water sectors in Iraq, in direct and frank discussion with the stakeholders.
