The Governor of Kirkuk, Mr. Rakan Saeed Al-Jubouri, and the President of the University of Kirkuk, Prof. Imran Jamal Hassan, in the presence of the scientific assistant, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Abd Ibrahim Al-Obeidi, the deans of the faculties and a number of academic and agricultural personalities opened the first annual festival for date palms of different varieties. The governor explained that the University of Kirkuk is proactive in providing experiments And the experiences that provide the governorate with the aim of developing the agricultural sector by investing vacant spaces and using them in palm cultivation, as the governorate is not producing dates, praising the role of the University of Kirkuk for holding this important festival for the governorate. From the governorates, different types of Iraqi dates are of various types, indicating that palm cultivation will be started in the governorate as it lacks palms. And the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Assistant Professor Dr. Osama Ibrahim Ahmed, stated that with exceptional efforts and with the participation of a number of farmers from different governorates, a festival for dates and billboards was opened. Palm cultivation, agricultural tools and special folders for the Iraqi currency from the first Its establishment bears the slogan of palm trees, considering that Iraq is a producer of rare types of dates in the world, as well as products derived from dates such as molasses and vinegar. The material and moral support of the University of Kirkuk is of great importance in providing the government and private sectors with the outputs of the faculties with a distinguished scientific cadre.
