A doctoral dissertation at the College of Agriculture discussed the effect of adding levels of gujarat powder in the feed and concentrations of its aqueous extract on the productive and physiological performance and meat qualities of broiler chickens, by the student Israa Qaisar Fares, and under the supervision of Professor Dr. Ammar Qahtan Shanoun, and Assistant Professor Dr. Muhammad Sabah Bahaa El-Din.

The study aimed to determine the extent of the effect of adding Hibiscus flower powder on the productive, physiological and biochemical characteristics of the blood and microbial characteristics, and to know the effect of immersing chicken meat in the aqueous extract of Hibiscus and to know the extent of its effect on some chemical, physical, microbial and sensory characteristics of broiler meat.
The study concluded that when adding gujarat powder at a concentration of 2% to the chicken feed, and submerging chicken meat pieces in its aqueous extract, a significant superiority was obtained in most of the studied characteristics.
