Kirkuk University discusses the effect of shading, organic fertilizer, and gibberellic acid on lavender plants.
A master’s thesis in the College of Agriculture discussed the effect of shading ratio, penjwin organic fertilizer, and spraying with gibberellic acid on the vegetative and flowering growth and oil yield of lavender plants, by the student Siamen Omar Abdulrahman and under the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Alaa Hussein Abdulqader.
The study aimed to document the success of lavender cultivation in the Kelar region, due to the absence of a previous study of the plant in the region, and to study the extent of the plant’s response to shading, the growth regulator gibberellic, and the organic fertilizer penjwin, and the interaction between them under the conditions of the Kelar environment.
The study concluded that the triple interactions between 0% shading, organic fertilizer 50 g.l-1, and spraying with gibberellic acid 500 mg. L-1 had a positive effect on most of the studied traits of lavender plants.
