Assistant Professor Dr. Adnan Shukor Ahmed, a faculty member at the College of Agriculture, University of Kirkuk, has published a scientific research paper in an international journal indexed in the Scopus database.
The researcher explained that the published paper is titled:
“Study of Some Heavy Metal Residues in the Meat of Local Geese in Different Areas of Kirkuk Governorate.”
The study was published in the Indian Journal of Animal Production and Management, an international peer-reviewed scientific journal indexed in Scopus, in Volume 42, Issue 2, 2026. The journal specializes in animal production science and management.
The researcher added that the study aimed to investigate the concentrations of selected heavy metals in the meat of local geese from several areas of Kirkuk Governorate. The research sought to assess the level of contamination by these elements, determine the safety of the meat for human consumption, and provide scientific data that could support food-quality monitoring and public health protection, as well as further research into the safety of animal products in Iraq.
