Greener spaces for a more sustainable university environment
The Afforestation Unit at the College of Agriculture was established in 2023 in response to environmental changes and the university community's need for a dedicated body that promotes awareness of afforestation, spreads the culture of green environments and sustainable development within the university and society, and works to increase green spaces inside and outside the university through continuous voluntary afforestation campaigns.

To understand the current status of green spaces across the university and identify the most effective methods for their maintenance and sustainability.

To raise awareness of the importance of afforestation, its benefits to the community environment, and the value of sustainable development.
A culture of afforestation that starts at the university
The unit aims to transform universities into greener spaces and models to be emulated, while creating attractive gardens that provide a better university environment for students. Its work also includes the following objectives:
Promote awareness of the importance of afforestation
Introduce students and the wider community to the environmental value of tree planting and green spaces.
Spread a culture of afforestation from the university outward
Establish afforestation as a sustainable practice that begins on campus and extends into society.
Organize awareness seminars and workshops
Conduct seminars and workshops on the importance of green spaces for the environment and human well-being.
Promote sustainable development and its benefits
Increase awareness of sustainable development and its role in improving the environment and serving society.
Increase green spaces
Expand green spaces throughout the university and the city.
Contribute to afforestation campaigns
Participate in tree-planting campaigns in governmental and civil institutions.
