The College of Pharmacy hosted an awareness symposium held by the Presidency of Kirkuk University in coordination with the Popular Mobilization Forces, entitled (The Role of Educational Institutions in Reducing Terrorism and Intellectual Extremism) on Tuesday, 02/20/2024.
The symposium aimed, in three axes, to introduce the role of these institutions in preventing the spread of hate speech and intellectual extremism and curbing them in light of an educational curriculum that adopts the foundations of peaceful coexistence and societal peace based on the culture and principles of managing moderation and consolidating the elements of intellectual security.
The symposium also recommended at the conclusion of its work that deviant thought in any society constitutes a fertile environment for the spread of terrorism and extremism, and terrorist thought and extremist discourse must be combated, especially in educational institutions. Awareness must also be spread among all segments of society of the importance of the principle of moderation and moderation, and staying away from excess, negligence, and fanaticism, which is considered...
