The President of the University of Kirkuk, Prof. Dr. Omran Jamal Hassan, honored the university's winning teams in the various championships of Iraqi universities. These championships were organized by the Student Activities Department/Scientific Supervision and Evaluation Division, in the presence of the Dean of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences and the Dean of the College of Science. The university president said: "We congratulate our students, athletes, and poets for this achievement at the level of Iraqi universities, which represents pride and brilliance for sports and university culture, and for the University of Kirkuk". Such kind of activites aim to increase the university's interaction with society and youth, educational, and sport institutions. This honor included the university team, which was crowned with the Iraqi Universities Volleyball Championship Cup (female students), after which they won the final match against the Hamdaniya University team, and the team that won second place in the university championship in athletics, as well as honoring the student from the College of Education for Human Sciences, Tariq Hamad Mohsen, who won first place in the University Poetry Festival.
