A Master’s thesis at the College of Agriculture, University of Kirkuk, examined “The Effect of Using Berberin Oil and Vitamin E in Laying-Hen Diets to Combat Hydrogen Peroxide-Induced Oxidative Stress and Its Impact on Productive, Physiological, and Antioxidant Performance.”
The thesis, submitted by Hawraa Hassan Amin, aimed to investigate the effects of using berberin oil and vitamin E in the diets of laying hens to combat oxidative stress induced by hydrogen peroxide, and to evaluate their effects on productive performance, physiological traits, and antioxidant status.
The study concluded that adding berberin oil as a natural antioxidant to the diet resulted in significant improvements in the traits evaluated and a clear improvement in antioxidant status, demonstrated by an increase in glutathione concentration and a decrease in malondialdehyde concentration
