Workshop at Kirkuk University on social stigma

Under the patronage of the respected President of Kirkuk University, Prof. Dr. Imran Jamal Hassan, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Osamah Ibrahim Ahmed, the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit, in cooperation with the Rehabilitation, Employment and Follow-up Unit and the Continuing Education Division, organized a workshop on social stigma, with the attendance and participation of college students. The workshop included two lectures by Dr. Kulala Wahab Amin and M.M. Hanan Salah Mahdi, in which they explained what is meant by social stigma, which is classifications attached to a person or group of people, thus distinguishing them by negatively highlighting them and isolating them from others. They added that social stigma has a negative impact on the individual, due to the psychological harm it causes, which in turn leads to undesirable consequences.
