The University of Kirkuk, in the presence of its president, Professor Dr. Imran Jamal Hassan, and the Assistant Governor of Kirkuk, Engineer Ali Hammadi, organizes an interactive scientific workshop, towards a green Kirkuk by 2030.
The College of Agriculture, University of Kirkuk, organized its interactive scientific workshop, under the title 'Towards a Green Kirkuk by 2030', under the supervision of its Dean, Assistant Professor Dr. Osama Ibrahim Ahmed, and in the presence and participation of experts and specialists in the agricultural, environmental, and urban fields and all stakeholders from the relevant state departments.
The workshop aimed to "develop plans that enable the local administration in Kirkuk Governorate to plant trees in the entire governorate by the year 2030, in a scientifically studied manner, and in coordination with all government departments to accomplish this work and within the timings it specified."
On its first day, the workshop included “lectures given by specialists in the agricultural, environmental, and urban fields. The first lecture was given by Assistant Professor Dr. Osama Ibrahim Ahmed, the second lecture was given by Dr. Mazen Abdel Wahab, and the third lecture was given by Dr. Muhammad Khader Al-Jubouri.
The Dean of the College of Agriculture explained, “Through this workshop, the launch of the Kirkuk University afforestation initiative was announced, and the first of November of each year is considered afforestation day in Kirkuk Governorate, in which afforestation campaigns are carried out with the participation of various state institutions, the private sector, and people.”
