The Student Activities Division at the College of Agriculture, in cooperation with the Directorate of Drug Control and Psychotropic Substances, organized an awareness seminar on drug prevention, with the participation of faculty members, staff, students, and media representatives from the Ministry of Interior – Kirkuk Office and Kirkuk TV.
The seminar included lectures delivered by specialists in the field of drug control, who explained the serious dangers this scourge poses to society in general and to youth in particular, as they are the primary target of drug dealers and distributors.
The speakers added that combating drugs is not limited to issuing laws banning their sale, distribution, and use, but also requires raising youth awareness about their health and social risks, learning how to deal with addicts and identify them, recognizing the methods used in drug promotion, and informing the relevant authorities. These efforts collectively contribute to eliminating this destructive phenomenon.
