The College of Agriculture, representing the University of Kirkuk, participated in the Field Day celebration dedicated to the extension program supporting the national initiative for propagating Paulownia tree seeds. The event was organized by the Agricultural Extension and Training Center in Kirkuk in cooperation with the Forestry and Desertification Department, the Kirkuk Agriculture Directorate, and the Local Farmers’ Associations Union, with official ministerial and parliamentary attendance, as well as directors of agricultural sector institutions.
Assistant Professor Dr. Matin Yilmaz Izzidin, Head of the Forestry Department and leader of the delegation representing the College of Agriculture, explained that the event aimed to highlight the economic and environmental importance of the Paulownia tree. It also included a detailed explanation of the agricultural practices related to this plant, such as planting dates, propagation methods, fertilization, irrigation, and pest control techniques.
