Two faculty members from the College of Agriculture, University of Kirkuk — Mr. Omar Fadel Atiya, Head of the Quality Assurance Division, and Mr. Sabah Faisal Asaad — participated in a workshop organized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research / Directorate of Research and Development, in collaboration with Clarivate, as part of the strategic agreement between the Ministry and the renowned international institution.
The workshop aimed to strengthen the position of Iraqi universities — both public and private — in the fields of scientific and research publishing. It was hosted by Bilad Al-Rafidain University and attended by the Deputy Minister for Scientific Affairs and Research, university vice presidents, assistant deans for scientific affairs, and researchers from various Iraqi universities across the provinces of Baghdad, Diyala, Anbar, and Kirkuk.
The participating faculty members explained that the workshop, titled
“Driving Research Excellence: Leveraging InCites Benchmarking & Analytics for Strategic Insights in Iraq,”
focused on training academics on methods for analyzing research performance using Web of Science and InCites Benchmarking & Analytics platforms. The goal is to support national strategies related to global university rankings and the enhancement of scientific research quality.
