In the presence of the Governor of Kirkuk, Rakan Saeed Al-Jubouri, the Environmental Protection and Improvement Council holds its periodic meeting in the governorate building, with the presence and participation of representatives of all relevant departments. The head of the Forestry Department who participated in the meeting, Assistant Professor Dr. Mateen Yilmaz Izildin Al-Bayati, explained that the attendees discussed many points, the most important of which is reviewing the efforts of the Kirkuk administration and the council’s plans to implement the solar energy project, which included 92 sites, buildings, and a health center that were completed, and government buildings were also included within the plan. 2023 to deliver solar energy to schools, clinics, centers and government buildings, in addition to plans to clean the city, remove rubble in Kirkuk, modernize the Al-Khasa River and cover it, as well as develop a section of the Al-Khasa River and increase green spaces so that Kirkuk is one of the distinguished governorates in ensuring and working to protect and improve the environment, and also follow up on efforts to address Gas leakage in the eastern regions of Kirkuk and ensuring that it does not happen again in a way that ensures the safety of the citizens of Kirkuk. He added that the Council also discussed how to treat sewage waste, oblige polluted laboratories to adhere to environmental and health conditions, apply permissible noise limits when operating machinery, equipment and loudspeakers, and support the efforts of nurseries and the operating mechanisms of private electric generators.
