The Department of Field Crops at the College of Agriculture, University of Kirkuk, organized a field (scientific) visit for third-year students to the Kirkuk Cotton Gin, one of the formations of the Ministry of Industry, as part of the practical curriculum for the Fiber Crops course.
The visit supervisor, Dr. Yaseen Obaid Nouri Ahmed Sharif, explained that the aim of the visit was to familiarize students with the equipment available at the cotton gin, how it operates, and the industries associated with it.
He added that such visits to agricultural and industrial facilities are part of a plan prepared by the Department of Field Crops to support the theoretical curriculum with field observations, helping students understand how these crops are utilized across various sectors.
