Professor Dr. Imran Jamal Hassan, President of the University of Kirkuk, inaugurated the proceedings of the 4th International Collaborative Scientific Conference on Modern Agricultural Technologies 2025. The event, hosted by the University of Kirkuk, was held under the patronage and presence of distinguished academic and scientific figures, with broad Arab and international participation. The conference was organized jointly by the Colleges of Agriculture at the Universities of Kirkuk and Anbar, providing a pioneering scientific platform that brought together researchers and experts from global, regional, and local universities.
In his opening speech, delivered on behalf of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the University President expressed his pride in hosting such a distinguished scientific gathering, emphasizing that the conference represents an important step towards strengthening the position of Iraqi universities in scientific research and opens new horizons for the exchange of knowledge and expertise among researchers.
Assistant Professor Dr. Osama Ibrahim Ahmed, Dean of the College of Agriculture, highlighted in his address that this fourth edition of the conference continues a successful academic journey aimed at developing the agricultural sector by introducing and adopting the latest modern agricultural technologies, contributing to increased productivity and food security.
In his remarks, the representative of the Minister of Agriculture stressed the importance of fruitful cooperation between the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, underlining the need to apply scientific research outcomes in the field to support agricultural projects, foster sustainable development, and maximize benefits for Iraq’s agricultural sector.
The opening session concluded with an affirmation that this conference serves as a valuable opportunity to strengthen research and scientific partnerships between Iraqi universities and their regional and international counterparts, and constitutes a significant step forward in advancing the agricultural sector through innovation and modern technologies.
