Kirkuk University discusses the use of karkade flower powder compared to BHT and its effect on laying hens’ eggs

The Faculty of Agriculture discussed a master's thesis on the use of kujarat flower powder compared to BHT and its effect on production performance, blood biochemistry, and qualitative and chemical characteristics of laying hens' eggs, by the student Ali Nawzad Muhammad, under the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Muhammad Sabah Baha' al-Din, and Dr. Muhammad Abdul Rahim Muhammad.

The study aimed to use a natural antioxidant, kujarat flower powder, instead of an artificial antioxidant BHT, in laying hens' feed, and to know its effect on production performance, blood biochemistry, and qualitative and chemical characteristics of laying hens' eggs.

The study concluded that adding kujarat flower powder at a rate of 1.5 g / kg of feed led to a significant improvement in the studied characteristics.
