A master's thesis at the College of Agriculture discussed the physiological effects of some major and minor nano-elements and the growth regulator thiamine and the extraction of active chemical compounds in the flowers of the Petunia hybrida plant, by the student Media Mikhail Lazar, under the supervision of Professor Dr. Kifaya Ghazi Saeed Al-Saad, and Professor Dr. Mohsen Omar Muhammad.
The study aimed to know the effect of spraying with different concentrations of nano-fertilizer for major and minor elements and the growth regulator thiamine on the growth and productivity of the plant from the flower yield, and to find the best combination between the two factors, and to separate and identify some active chemical compounds and extract them from the oil to extract the active chemicals in the flowers, and to detect and estimate the proportions of the chemical materials that make up the extracted oils using a gas chromatography - mass spectrometry device.
The study concluded that the interaction between spraying with nano-fertilizer for major and minor elements and spraying with thiamine growth regulator had a positive moral effect in increasing and improving most of the studied traits, and the percentages of active chemical compounds that were separated in plant flower samples differed according to the studied treatments and their interactions.
