Assistant Professor Dr. Mohsen Hamad Idham, a lecturer at the College of Pharmacy and Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, participated on Tuesday morning, 2024/7/23, as a member of the committee to discuss the doctoral thesis of the student Farah Ali Hamid in the Department of Life Sciences, College of Education for Pure Sciences, Tikrit University, headed by Professor Dr. Qana Mahmoud Attia.
Dr. Mohsen Hamad Idham explained that the thesis entitled (The inhibitory and vital activity of ferments of Aloe vera extract in microbial isolates causing diarrhea) aims to identify the causes of bacterial and fungal diarrhea, and the effect of aloe vera extract and some of its vital ferments on inhibiting the growth of pathogenic bacteria as well as their effect on some vital and physiological parameters of laboratory animals.
The study concluded that Salmonella bacteria, E. coli bacteria and Candida yeasts were the most common bacteria causing diarrhea. It also has a significant effect on reducing triglycerides and cholesterol in the body.
