The Department of Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance at the College of Veterinary Medicine organized an awareness lecture entitled “The Psychological, Health and Legal Dangers of Drug Addiction.” The lecture was attended by first-year students. The lecturer, M.M. Walid Mahdi, explained the dangers of addiction to humans and their psychological, mental and physical state, causing anxiety, tension, depression and social isolation. Sometimes, the addict may even commit suicide. The lecture aimed to raise awareness among members of society about the dangers of drug addiction, taking into account psychological, moral and familial support for children. He emphasized the need to implement strict laws related to the issue of drugs and hold drug dealers accountable.
