About the Department of Internal and Preventive Medicine

This department was established on September 9, 2018. It is considered one of the most important scientific departments in the College of Veterinary Medicine, as it is directly linked to qualifying students to become successful veterinarians. This is achieved through teaching and familiarizing them with all aspects related to learning methods of diagnosing diseases, prescribing necessary treatments for illnesses, and how to deal with epidemics. This includes learning the correct methods for controlling epidemics by following preventive programs and regular vaccinations. The Department of Internal and Preventive Medicine aims, through teaching several courses, to prepare veterinarians who are capable of properly handling animals, acquiring practical clinical experience, diagnosing their diseases, and providing appropriate treatment. This also includes controlling diseases, especially zoonotic diseases, encompassing internal medicine, infectious diseases, zoonotic diseases, and clinical aspects, in addition to summer internships for students.

Vision: To be a leader in providing distinguished education in the fields of internal and preventive medicine.

Mission: To prepare veterinarians specializing in internal and preventive medicine, capable of diagnosing, treating, and preventing internal diseases.
